President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening ceremony of the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Zagatala region on September 19, 2008. The head of our state cut the ribbon, which symbolizes the opening of the Museum. The construction of Heydar Aliyev Museum located in the Park named after the Great Leader started in 2006. Total area of the building is 348.5 square meters; the area of the exposition salon is 294 square meters. The national leader’s granite bust has been placed in the salon. The exposition of the museum consists of 18 sections. Many photos, books and documents related to different periods of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity are exposed in sections with such subjects as "Great personalities demonstrate to the world the intellect, science and culture of our nation", "It is necessary to accept, understand and evaluate history", "We lay foundation, guard and create the great monument, which is independent Azerbaijan", "Oil is national wealth of Azerbaijan nation", "We can be proud of our historical roots, moral values, and national traditions”. The fund room of the Museum was equipped with DVD, 7 computers and big monitor.
