Said Ordubadi memorial house-museum

The house-museum of Mammad Saed Ordubadi, the founder of historical novel genre in Azerbaijan, publisher and author, playwright and poet, publicist and translator, libretto writer was created in 1979 in the house where he lived and worked in Baku. Approximately 2000 exhibits are collected in the fund of the museum. Exhibits are kept in memorial belongings, written memories and fine arts sections. 300 exhibits of them all are shown in the exposition of the museum. Exposition is consisted of passage and two rooms. In the first room that was author’s working and sitting room, home things, furniture, as well as the writing table at which he wrote his popular historical novels, photos, paintings painted with drawing and oil-paint and books are collected. The look of the room has been kept as it was in the last minutes of writer’s life. The second room reflects the entire literary activities of Mammad Saed Ordubadi. Writer’s books published since the beginning of XX century, manuscripts, examples of newspapers and magazines where he worked are exhibited in here. The maquette of the house where the writer lived in Nakhichevan is also exhibited in the museum. Along being a cultural and educational institution, researches are carried out in the museum to study the cultural heritage of Mammad Saed Ordubadi. There are works of fine arts in the museum. There is a bust of Mammad Saed Ordubai in the entrance of the museum.
