Mosque "Juma" in Dagh Kasaman

The Mosque has been coonstructed in Dagh Kasamanli village of Agstafa district. As the local inhabitants say, the Mosque’s construction period belongs to the beginning of XIX century. Its yard area is 250 square metres; inside area is 12x12 metres.Dagh Kasamanli village Ayyub Agha Mosque has been constructed by local inhabitant Ayyub Agha. As he didn’t have the children, he left the Mosque as the souvenir and went away. The Mosque building has remained its primary appearance. Its walls have been completely built from the burnt bricks. The minarets have also been made from the burnt bricks, their height is 14 metres. Thickness of the walls of Mosque is 1 metre. Inside walls have been plastered with the sand-cement solution and whitened with the lime. The Mosque’s height from the floor till the cupola is 12 metres. The cupola has been placed over on four arches. The sanctuary’s height is 3,5 metres, it has the arched form. Its floor has been worked out with the burnt bricks. The Mosque has one entrance door and six windows. The cupola’s diameter is 7 metres. The facade side of the cupola has been worked out with the burnt bricks. There was placed the tomb of Ayyub Agha to the right of the entrance door.The Mosque was used as the grain store-house during the soviet times. In 1989-1990 years by initiative of the local inhabitants the activity of the Mosque has been restored. In 1990 year the reconstruction works have been carried out in the Mosque by the local construction institutions of Agstafa region.Let’s note, as informs the inscription engraved on Dagh Kasamanli village AyyubAgha Mosque’s wall, it was constructed in 1326 year by hijra–lunar calendar by Haji Taghi Karbalayi Huseyn.
