The mosque is located at the bottom of the east gate, and included in the complex of the Palace of the Shirvanshahs in Baku. On the facade there are no epigraphic inscriptions. It believed to have been built in the fourteenth century, and the name was taken from sura "Gene" of Koran. South of the interior wall is completely certain motif from the composition of the Shirvan-Absheron architectural school. On the wings of the building there are small niches. The main facade is a large composition - classical style entrance portal. Quadrangular portal correct profile was reflected in the classical form against the background of the rest of the stone facade. The portal of the mosque has a classical form.
