Seven church monastery complex – It is located on the upper north point of the village, in the forest, on the way from Lakit to Kotuklu. Seven church monastery consists of 2 basilicas and 5 small cells, that’s why it was called like that. Known as “Seven churchs” among the people great Albanian monastery complex has been the centre of the episcopacy for long times. That’s why this territory was called “Kakh” (religious centre, place for praying) for a long period. There are remainings of the nine memorials concerning to b.c. There is not enough information about the history of the tomb. But it’s supposed that the temple was constructed in the beginning of the IV-V century, when the Christianity was blossoming in Albania. So after the head of the Albaninan Ashkilar family – the monarch III Momun Vachaga came to the rule, with the instigation of Catholics of Albanian Havvari Church Saint Grigoriy Christianity was declared the state religion in Caucasian Albania. The basis of Christian community was independently put since I century in Albania and began to spread widely. With the order of III Momin Vachagan grandiose churchs and abbeys were constructed everywhere in the country, the religious schools were opened. Exactly Seven church monastery complex is supposed to be built the same time. Seven churches complex differs among the religious monuments of Azerbaijan with it’s unique beautiful planning. The complex is the most ancient abbey complex of Caucasian Albania on the territory of Azerbaijan. Since 1980 year the archeological investigation works (with intervals) are being carried out on the abbey’s territory. The investigations show that there had been the great sublime complex in here. Besides the religious and civil buildings, the defense walls, cells and the small castle called Church Castle enter the complex. The most ancient religious building of the complex is the three-celled temple, the main temple with the cross type cupola to the east, and also five cells constructed in the centre of the abbey’s wide area (now is separated with the village road).the religious buildings of the abbey are located on the bank of Lakitchay valley, on the square surrounded with the slopes of mountains like the half-ring. There were the farm and living places little bit above, but their plans haven’t been explained yet. The complex generally consists of nine monuments, and seven of them are churches and adjoining to them buildings for the guests, bell tower. There is also high guardsman tower and the durable castle wall for protecting the complex. Only main church is a little bit bigger than the others and is three-roomed. Other six churches are one-roomed small churches. All the churches’ buildings have been constructed in basilica form. The fragments of tile and the safe roof parts found from the territory let say that accurately prepared tile have been used for building covers. The façades of all the monuments entering the complex have been faced with the accurately cut stones. But no engraved ornaments or decorations can be seen on the stones. Entering the main church’s building all the buildings of the complex have been constructed with the riverbed and lime stones and the lime mixture, faced with the accurately cut stones. All the churches were lightened by the narrow and longish windows placed on the south and north sides. However in later periods all the churches’ north windows have been closed. Most parts of the monument have been destroyed. The altar with the large pitcher, where the grain was supposed to be preserved, and the small pitcher, in which the gold was supposed to be kept, were found on the territory. And the tracks of the castles, where the abbots living here defended themselves in case of danger, remain here. The abbey reminds the small compact village. Living here abbots are supposed to have natural farm life. This complex is the biggest among the monuments of Caucasian Albania in the territory. The wide plain area near the abbey is called Albantala. It’s possible to go to Mamyrly waterfall through the thick forest descending the sheer slope.
