Unique medical sensor diagnostic smartphones produced by Israel’s Lifewatch company have gone on sale in Azerbaijan.
Chairman of Israel-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce Alex Kaplun spoke about the first medical smartphone in the world.
Kaplun said ECG, measurement of blood sugar and oxygen saturation level, pulse, temperature are available on these smartphones.
“It can also calculate body fat percentage and stress level. Individual diet program is prepared with this smartphone. The results are transmitted to the data base of the online server. After the examination is over, the results are sent to the owner of the smartphone and his doctor no matter in what part of the world they are,” Kaplun said.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce clarified why this device is first sold in Azerbaijan. “First of all, medicine has not developed enough here. For example, in Israel the person measuring the blood sugar with a device can apply to any hospital. Very experienced doctors work in hospitals. But the same can not be said about Azerbaijan. Secondly, people in Israel usually use only one phone. But here people use two or more than two phones. Therefore, Azerbaijan is the most proper place to sell medical smartphones,” he said.
According to Alex Kaplun, this device has already gone on sale. In the first stage, it will be used without payment for half a year, later monthly payment will be required. The device costs AZN 550. Mobitel is the official distributor of these smartphones in Azerbaijan.
He added that Call Center will be opened in Baku in the near future. “Doctors and nurses studied in Israel will work there. Talks are underway with medical companies. After the information is received from the medical smartphone, doctor himself will contact that person,” he said.
