The lowest temperature of past 110 years in Baku recorded yesterday

The lowest temperature of the 110 years in Baku was recorded yesterday. Senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev told that the north-west wind that started on February 1 lasted on February 2, the maximum speed of the wind reached 28-33 meters in Baku and Absheron peninsula. The minimum temperature in Baku and Absheron peninsula was -5.5 C. -5.2 C was last recorded in Baku and Absheron peninsula in 1937.
Asif Verdiyev said the temperature was 0… -3 in the lowland regions, -6… 11 C in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, -9… -12 C in the mountainous regions. The thickest snow was recorded in Saribash, Shaki region (68 cm). The depth of the snow cover was 53 cm in Rvarud, Lerik, 49 cm in Kishchay, 40 cm in Ilisu, 37 cm in Gabala, 35 cm in Oghuz, 29 cm in Zagatala, 27 cm in Shaki-Ismayilli, 20-25 cm in Guba and Altiaghaj.
