The title of Honorary Professor of Sechenov First Moscow State Medical
University of the Russian Federation has been bestowed upon President of
Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, member
of the Azerbaijani parliament Mehriban Aliyeva.
The letter sent by Rector of Sechenov First Moscow State Medical
University, correspondent member of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences,
professor, Doctor of Medicine Pyotr Glybochko says:
“The leadership of Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University has
passed a decision to bestow the title of Honorary Professor of Sechenov
First Moscow State Medical University upon Azerbaijan’s First Lady
Mehriban Aliyeva for her special merits and contributions to solving the
global problems related to healthcare, maintenance of environment,
peace and humanism. Ms. Aliyeva’s charitable activity is highly
appreciated in the Russian Federation. The Russian representation of the
Heydar Aliyev Foundation together with the Organization of Azerbaijani
Youth of Russia is implementing a number of important projects,
including “Cancer has no nation”, “Young people against acquired immune
deficiency syndrome and drug addiction”, “Be sure you are healthy”,
charity events in hospitals, children’s homes and houses for veterans.
Ms. Aliyeva’s participation in the important programs on protection of
mothers and children, programs struggling against thalassemia,
children’s diabetes and other diseases is very valuable. It is
especially important and pleasant for us that Mehriban Aliyeva, who
graduated from our university, is promoting Sechenov First Moscow State
Medical University in the world.”
Up to now, Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, which is
known all over the world, has bestowed the title of Honorary Professor
upon two persons – world-famous cardiologist, academician of Russian
Academy of Sciences Yevgeni Chazov and world-famous cardiac surgeon,
academician of Russian Academy of Sciences Leo Bokeria.
