Statement issued on weather condition in Azerbaijan

The National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has issued a statement on current weather in Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told that the weather worsened in Azerbaijan from January 30 till January 31, it snowed heavily and frost was recorded.

The height of snow cover was 52 cm in Nabran, 26 cm in Saribash, 23 cm in Lankaran, 21 cm in Lerik, 19 cm in Altiaghaj, 18 cm in Guba, 15-19 cm in mountainous areas of Guba, 17 cm in Goygol and Oguzh, 16 cm in Yardimli, 12 cm in Shaki and Ismayilli, 11 cm Goytepe, 10 cm in Kelvez, Khachmaz, Gabala, 8 cm in Goychay, Khinaliq, Jafarkhana, 6 cm in Shamakhi, Kishchay, Aghdere, 4 cm in Sabirabad and Gedebey, 3 cm in Ordubad, Terter, Zerdab, Imishli, Salyan, 2 xm in Mingachevir, Tovuz, Zagatala, Ganja, 16 cm in Baku, 4 cm in Pirallahi and Mashtagha.

North wind strengthened in some areas, blizzard occurred.

Minimum temperature was -3…-5 C in the Absheron Peninsula, -2…-5 C in lowland regions, -5…-8 C in mountainous regions and 0…-5 C in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
