Azerbaijan has started applying Mobile Number Portability system, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies told.
The works on adoption of related legal documents, installation of necessary equipments, conformation of intra-network charges of the mobile operators to the standard format, signing of related agreements and testing have been completed successfully.
This service enables subscriber to port the mobile number from one operator to another one (network code and number are not ported).
Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has given tasks to the related operators.
The main goal is to increase service quality, effectively use number resources, protect consumer rights, port mobile number to another operator which provides more useful service.
