Commemorative event on the 22nd anniversary of Khojaly genocide was organized in Toronto, Canada by Azerbaijan's embassy in Canada and Canada-Azerbaijan Partnership Association.
The embassy told that Azerbaijanis studying at the University of Toronto and University of Waterloo, representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Toronto attended the event.
First, a meeting was held at the tree planted in memory of Khojaly genocide victims in Harbour Square Park. "In memory of Khojaly tragedy" is written on the memorial plaque placed in front of the tree. Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Canada Farid Shafiyev said the tree is the first monument in Canada commemorating the victims of Khojaly genocide.
The meeting was continued at Westin hotel with the commemorative event on the victims of Khojaly genocide.
