Azerbaijan applies Euro-4 standard from today. Amendments to the AZS 636-2012 state standard “Road Transport. Ecological Classes” has been confirmed under the order of the State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent.
The date for applying the amendments has been set for April 1. According to the order, amendment has been made to the table on conformation of harmful agents of the vehicles to the ecological classes for production year and country.
According to decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on bringing to conformity the requirements on emission of harmful agents from vehicles (imported and produced in Azerbaijan) with Euro 4 norms dated to January 14, 2014, with the view of reducing the volume of automobile emissions and improving the environmental situation, Euro 4 will be applied from April 1 on emission of harmful agents from vehicles (imported and produced in Azerbaijan). Only the vehicles in line with Euro-4 standard will be imported from April 1.
