Tourism companies to receive concessional loans in Azerbaijan

Discount credits will be given to medium and small entrepreneurs functioning in Azerbaijan, tickets will be sold to tourists at concessional prices, it has been considered in the Plan of Measures declared in connection with Tourism year-2011 in the Republic of Azerbaijan approved by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. According to this plan, special travels to different places of Azerbaijan, “It is our homeland” tourist camps will be organized during July-September in the regions with great tourist flow. By taking the existing tourist flow between Azerbaijan and neighboring Georgia into account, tourist trains will be put to lines. It is considered to make changes in the legislation for development of tourism in the country. That is, Ministries of Tourism and Culture, Justice will submit new draft of the law on tourism to the parliament within forthcoming two months. Besides, it is considered to prepare proposals on application of special tariff prices to tourist groups in international and domestic air, sea and railway transportation.
One of the interesting novelties considered in the plan is allocation of targeted and preferential credits in order to support medium and small entrepreneurs functioning in tourism sphere. This job has been entrusted to the Economic Development and the ministries of Culture and Tourism.
According to plan, Baku Vocational School of Tourism under Tourism Institute of Azerbaijan will be established. Measures will be taken for propaganda of national tourism in the countries having priority for Azerbaijan – EU countries, USA, Japan, Canada, Russia and Persian Gulf Countries.
The most interesting measure of agitation in the plan is the creation of the telephone information service of tourism and cultural facilities, places of interest worth visiting.
Moreover, it is considered to carry out works for renovation of historical monuments, reconstruction of roads going to tourism facilities, putting special indicators and road signs in the highways.
