Azerbaijani president establishes pension for families of killed and lost servicemen while performing international duty in Afghanistan

The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an decree on establishing the pension of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the families of soldiers who were reported dead or lost while performing their international duty in Afghanistan.

APA reports that the pension of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the families of soldiers who were reported dead or lost while performing their international duty in Afghanistan will be AZN 200 per month.

The pension will be paid by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection with an equal amount for each family member of those servicemen at the expense of the funds allocated for social protection spending in each year’s state budget.

The Cabinet of Ministers is also to prepare and confirm the rule pf determining and paying the pension within a month.

The decree will come into force on January 1, 2015.
