Azerbaijani singer appointed UN Ambassador Against Hunger

Famous British songwriter and singer of Azerbaijan origin Sami Yusuf has been appointed an UN Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme.

GoMap.az reports quoting APA that Sami Yusuf has already visited WFP operations providing food assistance to Syrian refugees in Jordan and he has seen how WFP works to improve access to nutritious food in Egypt.

Note that, Sami Yusuf was born in an Azerbaijani family in Tehran. He moved with his family to Great Britain when he was three.
