Azerbaijan will prepare a common law on passports, making related amendments to the legislation.
The name of the law “On exit from and entry into the country” will be replaced with “On passports”. In this respect, a number of clauses will be eliminated from the law, the parliament told.
According to the new draft, clause 1 (The right of the citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic to leave the country and to enter into the country), clause 2 (Realization of citizen’s right of exit from the country and of entry into the country), clause 11 (Legal status of citizens leaving the country for permanent residence abroad), and clause 15 (Foreigners entering the Azerbaijan Republic without passport or visa) will be eliminated from the law.
The draft has been recommended to the parliament’s plenary meeting.
