Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva has attended a groundbreaking ceremony of an animal shelter in Garadagh district, Baku.
Ms. Aliyeva viewed the master plan of the shelter, a project of International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA).
In the design of the shelter to accommodate nearly 5,000 animals, in particular dogs and cats, used the experience of other countries. The facility can also be used to examine and treat rare animals in the urban environment, for example horses and some birds.
Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva laid a foundation stone for the facility.
The shelter will help reduce the number of abandoned animals in Baku and the surrounding areas and prevent some infectious diseases.
