Successful implementation of the state policy aimed at solving the problems of young people in Azerbaijan, creation of new jobs and involvement of youth in economic life of the country had a significant effect on the migration balance over the past few years.
According to the relevant bodies of the Interior Ministry and the State Migrations Service, last year 1,900 people came to Azerbaijan, while 800 left the country for permanent residence, the State Statistical Committee told APA.
Russia (33.5%) takes first place among the countries where people come to Azerbaijan for permanent residence, and it is followed by Georgia (26.4%), other foreign countries (8.6%), Turkey (8.6%), Kazakhstan (4.4%) and Ukraine (3.9%).
Russia (55.7%) also ranks first according to the rating of the countries for where Azerbaijani citizens leave for, and it is followed by other foreign countries (22.5%), Kazakhstan (12.5), Turkey (4.9%) and Ukraine (4.4%).
