Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture has launched development of a digital database (GIS) and 3D model of central Baku.
GIS and 3D models are also to be drawn up for six other Azerbaijani towns and cities – Shaki, Ganja, Khirdalan, Neftchala and Balakan.
The plan of Baku centre covers an area of about 1,500 hectares – from Nobel Avenue (the Amay shopping centre) to State Flag Square and from the seafront promenade to Bakikhanov Street.
