Baku hosts the International Forum of Young Lawyers.
Chief of the department for law-enforcement bodies of the Presidential Administration Fuad Alasgarov delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum. He said that the reforms were carried out in legal sphere as in all spheres: “50 percent of judges, justice and prosecution officers in Azerbaijan are the young people. At least 30% of the lawyers are young. About 20 laws were adopted in this sphere and the Ombudsperson’s Office was established in Azerbaijan over the last 10 years”.
Alasgarov said that Eurovision Song Contest, which would be held in Azerbaijan next month, would unite all European youth: “This will be a grandiose contest that will create conditions to assemble all European youth”.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev underlined the significance of the event. He said that Azerbaijani youth organizations were represented in more than 30 international organizations.
He said that the cooperation with the international organization such as the European Law Students’ Association would benefit youth both of Azerbaijan and the other countries participating in the event.
