Suspension bridge in Baku to be completed in late May

A suspension bridge as part of a major road complex near the metro station “Koroglu” will be put into operation in late May ,” Spokesman to the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry’s Azeryolservis OJSC Punhan Mursaliyev told.

The construction works of complete suspension bridge which will regulate the transport in the direction of Bina, center of the city and Mardakan settlement. The works started in October of 2009.

The bridge near the airport has special design. The project of the suspension bridge belongs to Southern Korea Company. Main iron column of the bridge is from the Southern Korea, iron rope from France and some parts are brought from Turkey. The length of the bridge is 95 meters and width is 27, 5 meters. Some parts of the bridges were constructed by the specialist from Turkey.

“A total road junction is near the metro station “Koroglu.” It includes nine bridges and 11 roads. The total length is 3600 linear meters,” Punkhan Mursaliev said.
