Broadcasting of the marriage programs on Azerbaijan’s TV channels will be suspended in September, chairman of the National Television and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli told.

According to him, they came to conclusion with TV channels on suspension of marriage programs from the new season: “These programs will be suspended in September. Actually, marriage programs are not effective for the society. Majority of people think so. The people of Azerbaijan seriously approach the family issue. But now this issue is so simplified that even the parents supported the young people to come to these programs for marriage. It is unacceptable for us. Such families are only for entertainment, not for long. If 18-19-year-old people participated in these programs, it would not be acceptable. Marriage is normal, but it is not necessary to use from the advantages of television for this. Both managements of ATV and ANS told me that they understand the anxiety of people and will consider it.”
