Public TV to be banned to broadcast foreign TV series

The Public Television will not be conferred a right to broadcast foreign TV series. There will not be “TV series” word in draft amendments to the law on “Public Television and Radio broadcast” which will be submitted for discussion in the Parliament’s extraordinary session on June 29.

Thus, according to the amendments proposed to the abovementioned law at the meeting of Parliament’s Committee of Culture on June 6, conditions must be created for Public TV to translate the best foreign TV series, documentaries, cartoons in Azerbaijani language. But “TV series” word was excluded from the last version of the draft. According to the last version, conditions must be created for Public TV to translate the best foreign films, documentaries, cartoons in Azerbaijani language.

The other amendments are also considered in the draft amendments to the law on “Public Television and Radio Broadcast”.
