Germany will support the establishment of a college in Azerbaijani city Sumgayit within a pilot project.
Chairman of the Azerbaijani-German Forum, Azerbaijani Honorary Consul in Stuttgart Otto Hauser has proposed to implement a new project in the field of vocational education in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education said today.
A college in Sumgait will be created on the basis of the German model, Otto Hauser said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Education Misir Mardanov.
It is planned that the period of study in this school will cover three years. It will train specialists in economics, chemistry, construction, and mechatronics.
Stressing the importance of a college for the region, Hauser touched on the construction of an appropriate building, preparation of training materials and curriculum, staff and its participation in training courses in Germany.
Mardanov stressed that the college can play an important role in meeting the staffing needs of major projects and industrial parks located in this city and expanding their activities.
