The opening ceremony has been held of a 9-storey building at 9 Koroglu Rahimov Street, Baku.
The one-room apartments were given to families who had lived in small houses in the Sovetsky (which means Soviet) district in Baku as well as owners of non-residential facilities.
First deputy of the Yasamal district executive authority, chairman of the resettlement commission Samad Islamov said in his speech at the opening that 104 fully-reconstructed apartments with all the necessary communal conditions have been given to families who had lived in small houses in Sovetsky prior to the evacuation of the area at the order of the Cabinet of Ministers on 27 July 2015, and owners of non-residential facilities.
“Today, the keys of 111 apartments will be given to the residents. The transparent allocation of the apartments took place by draw in the assembly hall of the Yasamal district executive power on 11 June, with the participation of the resident. There are fully reconstructed apartments in the building. They are provided with heating system and communication lines. In the yard all the conditions are available for resident to take a rest. Up-to-date elevator system will also be available in the building,” he said.
Islamov said the new apartments are thrice as large as the previous houses which the residents had in Sovetsky.
“There are 120 apartments in the building. But the owners of 111 apartments became known by draw on June 11,” he said.
Then the keys of 111 apartments were given to the residents.
