Castle walls of early stageof Middle Bronze Age have been found in June-July 2016, during archaeological excavations near Dize village of Sharur region.
Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) associate member Vali Bakhshaliyev said.
According to V.Bakhshaliyev, carbon analysis shows that the castle walls were built at the end of the 3rd millennium BC: 'This phenomenal event is regarded as a revolutionary event in the history of the region as castle walls, built in the Middle East and South Caucasus in 2135 BC, have not been found.
According to him, Middle Bronze Age fortress-style residential areas are common in Nakhchivan: 'Existence of defense construction shows formation of powerful tribal alliance of great military potential in the territory of Nakhchivan in the 3rd millennium BC'.
