Eight-year-old Azerbaijani girl wins international music competition in Italy

Eight-year-old Zuleykha Abdullayeva became winner of the 14th International Pietro Argento Music Competition in Italy.
Student of the art gymnasium of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory Zuleykha Abdullayeva won in the best piano player nomination. After performing Bach’s Small Prelude, Chopin’s Mazurka and Clementi’s Sonatina, the eight-year-old girl left other competitors behind. She gained 96 points out of 100 to win Pietro Argento Award.
Abdullayeva thanked her piano teacher Nigar Najafzadeh for leading her to this victory.
Representatives of Italy, Germany, South Korea, the Netherlands, Turkey, Poland, Slovenia and other countries attended the competition.
