A fantastic Italian Festival of Fashion and Design opened in Baku's Landmark Business Center on November 3 as one of the events to celebrate the Week of Italian Language in the World.
A fashion and jewellery show, an art exhibition, a display of Italian-made products, a concert and a showroom of Italian furniture were organized as part of the event to promote Italian products in Azerbaijan.
The event brought together representatives of large companies, public and art figures. Among the guests was also Italian Ambassador to Baku Giampaolo Cutillo and Italian Trade Commissioner Luigi D’Aprea.
The Festival was organized by Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Embassy and the Azerbaijani-Italian Friendship Association.
The event itself and its huge success become possible thanks to the strong cooperation of these three big institutions in Azerbaijan, D’Aprea said.
“I am very proud to present this event in Azerbaijan, because this is the real partnership to strengthen the bilateral economic relationship between Italy and Azerbaijan,” he noted. “This is immense event and allows to thoroughly present Italian offer in Azerbaijan.”
D’Aprea mentioned that although this event’s strength and success is the result of the Italian coordination, without the support of local companies it would be impossible to realize it.
“That' why I would like to thank all the Italian-Azeri representatives in Azerbaijan,” he said.
The event put on display collections of Italian brands from clothing to jewelry. The guests enjoyed male, female and children fashion show in business, casual and athletic styles of famous brands such as Amazon, My Brands, Ducati, Trussardi, Avenue, Liberi and more.
An exclusive collection of Italian flags crafted by top Italian Fashion houses were also featured during the event.
Following the fashion show, guests were mesmerized by a concert program, where Stefano Muscaritolo, Kamala Alizadeh and Ilham Nazarov perfromed.
The interest for the event exceeded the expectations of the organizers, according to the official.
“We expected 200-300 people, but we received more than 500 confirmations,” said D’Aprea, adding that they expected participation of only 10 companies and surprised when the number reached 20.
Recalling that this is the second edition of the Festival, D’Aprea voiced hope that this edition will be very successful and open the way for third edition.
The Italian trade commissioner also shared his impressions about Azerbaijan. “I really enjoy to stay here and to cooperate. But that is not all of it. I enjoy and like Azerbaijan very much. Azerbaijan provides me with special emotion on professional side. Also I enjoy knowing people and culture. And our cultures are much closer than we think," he said.
