Preparations are underway to hold an Azerbaijan-Turkey-Russia meeting, Turkish Ambassador in Baku, Erkan Ozoral told reporters on November 7.

Moreover, another trilateral meeting is expected to be held by Azerbaijan, Turkey and Turkmenistan, the ambassador added.

During a recent meeting with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia could create a tripartite cooperation mechanism, and that Moscow and Ankara are positive about this mechanism.

Previously, Ozoral said that the trilateral cooperation, on the one hand, will support the development of trilateral economic ties, on the other hand, will strengthen the three countries’ relations and bring them together for their political point of view.

Currently, there are several trilateral formats in the region such as Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, Azerbaijan-Turkey-Iran and Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan.

The envoy further said that Turkey’s Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan will visit Azerbaijan in late November.

Ozoral noted that along with Arslan, the visit of the Turkish parliament speaker Ismail Kahraman to Azerbaijan is also scheduled for December in connection with the opening of a building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA) in Baku.

The envoy added that the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations have dynamic character.

Commenting on Azerbaijan-Turkey relations, the diplomat stressed that Azerbaijan demonstrated a fraternity by supporting Turkey during the July 15 events.
