Top official: Many countries willing to join Azerbaijan-Russia-Iran co-op format

The next trilateral meeting of Iranian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents is likely to take place in Tehran in 2017.
The views on the possibility of expanding the trilateral cooperation format between Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran, which was initiated in Baku in order to implement the North-South international transport corridor, show the importance and attractiveness of this project, Novruz Mammadov, Deputy Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, Chief of the Administration's foreign relations department, posted on Facebook on Nov. 23.

Mammadov noted that there are many countries willing to join this cooperation format.

The next trilateral meeting of Iranian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents is likely to take place in Tehran in 2017, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi told a press conference on Nov. 21.

“I think the [trilateral format] may be changed, involving the leaders of several countries,” said Qasemi.
