Analogue broadcasting will be stopped in last 14 districts in Azerbaijan on December 20, and the country will fully transfer to digital broadcasting.
Chairman of the National TV and Radio Council’s (NTRC) Technical Department, professor Isa Mammadov told, last of 330 analogue signal transmitters all over the country will be switched off today: “Currently the digital broadcasting is conducted through 145 transmitters, but we have ordered 45 more to fill the gap in some regions.
After their installation the number of digital transmitters will rise to 190. Installed transmitters had been imported mostly from Italy. Some transmitters were imported from Russia, Turkey, Baltic and few from Germany and Japan”.
Notably, NTRC managed transfer from analogue to digital broadcasting in several steps.
