Azerbaijan to participate in Junior Eurovision for the first time

Azerbaijan will be represented in Junior Eurovision contest for the first time.

Azerbaijan has already confirmed its participation at the contest.

12 countries expressed their intention to participate in Junior Eurovision-2012 song contest which will be held in Amsterdam on December 1. Israel and Albania will participate in this contest for the first time along with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, Albania, Belarus, Belgium, Georgia, Israel, Moldova, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine, and Armenia will be represented in Junior Eurovision-2012 contest.

Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Sietse Bakker brought to the attention that the contest would be held tenth time this year. Bakker said he was pleased to the participation of the new countries on the contest: “Three countries will record its name to our contest. We are glad the participation of the new countries. At the same time the returning of some countries to the contest is welcome. As EBU we will support television broadcaster of these countries for participating in the contest in the period of economic crisis.”

Junior Eurovision-2012 will take place at the HMH Arena, Amsterdam on December 1.
