Within project "Development of a model on foster care and family-based services", the Education Ministry has built and commissioned a family-based small group house for 10 girls living in facilities.
An assessment was held in state children's facilities and 50 children were chosen to give to foster families, the Education Ministry told Gun.Az.
The Family Training and Consultation Centre has been commissioned in the Khazar District to train persons willing to be a foster family and the implementation of the Family Training Program has been launched.
In accordance with the Action Plan of the State Program and Main Plan on transformation of state children's facilities, and upon the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, two special boarding schools for deaf children were combined and Republican special boarding school No. 3 was established under their basis. Thus, the number of state children's facilities under the Education Ministry reduced to 38.
Since the beginning of the year up to now, 48 children were given to biological families and eight children were adopted.
