One died in the earthquake in the north-west of Azerbaijan on October 14, head physician of Balaken Central Hospital Hajiomar Nuriyev told. He said resident of Kortala village ZInadova Khajabanu Mahammad, 76, who fell down and got brain injury, was hospitalized.
She died in hospital at night.
Nuriyev also said that they received 40 calls, 5 were hospitalized following the quake. Most of them were hospitalized for stress.
Several quakes hit north-west regions of Azerbaijan. The quake was felt more in Balaken and Zagatala. Balaken region executive power told APA that the earthquake shocks were strong, people left their houses and work. No destructions were reported.
Republic Seismological Service reported six quakes in the north-west regions of Azerbaijan yesterday.
