Minister of Culture and Tourism meets with Turkish journalists

As we have already informed, a number of representatives of leading newspapers of Turkey have visited our country. Their structure include employees of newspapers as "Zaman", "Todays Zaman", "Hurriyet", "Hurriyet Daily News", "Star" and "Radikal".
The purpose of the visit implemented by the initiative of Azerbaijan Embassy in Turkey is to agitate co-operation with media of the brother country for comprehensively presentation of Azerbaijan history, culture, contemporary policy, economic potential, Nagorno Karabagh problem and its heavy results to Turkey publicity. It is planned to be held meetings with Turkish journalists in the state and government organizations within the framework of the visit. Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev has met with Turkish journalists. Minister stressed important role of the media on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. It was noted that, there was a great role of the Mass media on promotion of our country’s history and culture and properly informing the world about Azerbaijan realities. Minister of the Culture and Tourism stressed that, Azerbaijan was the most developed country in the region and talked about expanding of the relations in the field of culture and tourism. In particular, he appreciated contribution of Turkish specialists to the tourism industry of our country. ”There was held meeting with the chiefs of the leading Turkish tourism organizations recently. We highly appreciate Turkey’s role on improvement of Azerbaijan tourism industry. At present a lot of Turkish professionals work in the hotel industry of Azerbaijan” - minister said. Journalists have been informed of the International Mugham Festival which has taken place in March of current year, World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue which has taken place in April in Baku, and also the Third International Music festival which is underway in Gabala.
Speaking about Armenians’ encroachment on our country he also said, Armenians tried to appropriate our national music, historical monuments and even our ethnic cuisine.
Turkish journalists have been informed of the condition of historical monuments affected by the Armenians and also realities and consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Media representatives of Turkey were interested in the work done for preparation to "Eurovision song contest -2012”.
