The Azerbaijani Parliament has discussed the draft law on the amendments to the law on “The territorial structure and administrative territorial division” at its meeting.
Chairman of the Parliament’s Regional Issues Arif Rahimzadeh informed about the draft law. He noted that the main essence of the amendments proposed to the law was related with the establishment and abolishment of new administrative-territorial entities, naming and renaming, as well as determination and change of borders. According to the amendments made to the law, town-building mechanism was simplified. The adoption of the law will allow establishing a town by uniting several villages of settlements. Rahimzadeh noted that it was significant for the development of those administrative-territorial entities and establishment of a new infrastructure.
The draft law has been put to the vote and adopted.
