The number of vaccinations for children will be increased in Azerbaijan, Deputy Health Minister Elsavar Aghayev told journalists.
According to him, the vaccination program carried out in Azerbaijan for many years is praised by the World Health Organization: “The vaccination is being carried out 98% in Azerbaijan. The number of vaccinations will reach 10 this year. This program was adopted by WHO. At present the vaccination against 6-7 kinds of infections are being carried out in Azerbaijan.”
The deputy minister also commented on concerns of the population due to the low quality of vaccines: “Perhaps, concern is related with the vaccine produced in India. But you must now that the producers of these vaccines are recognized by WHO. The vaccines, which are not recognized by the organization, are not brought to Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Health also purchases vaccines, at the same time, various foundations, including the Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya Foundation are carrying out vaccination.
