Ukraine wins Junior Eurovision 2012, Azerbaijan ranks 11th – VIDEO

Ukraine’s Anastasiya Petrik won the 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Nebo” (The Sky).

APA’s correspondent from Amsterdam reports that, Georgian representative took the second place. Participating in this contest for the first time, Azerbaijan’s representatives Omar Sultanov and Suada Alekperova ranks 11th.

Anastasiya is the younger sister of Viktoria Petrik, the Ukrainian representative at the 2008 Junior Eurovision. Anastasiya was born on May 4, 2002 in Odessa. She lives in the village of Nerubaiske, Odessa Oblast.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in the arena of the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. The show was held at the unusual scene that was prepared in accordance with the slogan of the contest “Break the Ice!”. Evout Genemans and Kim-Lian van der Mey were presenters of the final.

Omar Sultanov, 10, and Suada Alekperova, 11, performed the song “Boys And Girls”, main part of which was in Azerbaijani. Jessica Appla and poet Zahra Badalbeyli are authors of the song, choreography – famous Russian dancer Maxim Nedolechko, teacher – Mzia Gambashidze.
