CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has purchased two Airbus A-340s currently in production for a spring delivery, a source at the airline told on Friday.
"Presumably, the aircraft will be delivered to the country in April next year," the source said.
Earlier the CJSC ordered four new E-190 aircraft from Brazilian Embraer SA. The total cost is $180.8 million. The delivery of aircraft will begin in the third quarter of 2013.
The company also plans to lease two used Embraer aircraft of the E-170 type. One plane will be delivered to the country in the second quarter of 2013. By late next year, CJSC can use all six Brazilian produced aircraft on domestic and international flights.
