YARAT! Contemporary Art Space invites to participate at Public Art 2013 project, which will be launched in late February 2013.

Completed in August this year and organized thanks to support by Old City Administration, Baku Boulevard Administration, Bank Standard and Azercell Co. 012 Baku Public Art Festival once again managed to provide evidence of extreme necessity for the initiatives like that in Azerbaijan.

For last eight months Friday presentations of the artworks to have been demonstrated within the frameworks of the Festival have transformed into a pleasant tradition, which intrigued Baku residents and city visitors.

Every placed sculptural composition or an installation immediately became point at public issue as well as played the role of attraction center of the city for the locals.

The upcoming Festival will pay more attention to shedding light upon the issue of contemporary art in megalopolis as compared to the previous one; what is more, the Festival will allow implementing 10 projects proposed either by an individual artist or by a group of artists.

It is worth noticing, all project proposals to be submitted should be notable for their interactive character. The design of Festival managers contemplates constant interaction between an artist and the audience, which is going to get involved into creative process. Visitors participation is an indispensable and integral component of the art pieces themselves, and it is precisely spectators who will endow all projects with specific action.

Selection of medium, topics and participation mode is left at discretion of the artists taking part in the project. Apparently, some artists would love to present their curator projects, while others will prefer to create music-based artworks.

The key principle we adhere to is interactivity of the process, i.e. a situation when a visitor is capable to influence over the course of the events and creation as such not only depends on inspiration and imaginativeness an artist possesses, but also is affected by the environment he/she works in and the surrounding people.

Noteworthy, 5 out of 10 project proposals will finally be selected from the most interesting applications submitted by foreign nationals. The upcoming event is distinguished by being held at the regional level.

Applicants need to match the following criteria:

Be over 20 years of age.
Be able to provide a solid proof of their previous creative practice (including their participation in art shows).
Be either art professionals with relevant academic background or art school students.

If you believe that you're eligible, please, fill in this form and send it to info@yarat.az along with all additional material (images of work, certificates of participation and diplomas.).
