Association of Software Vendors (BSA) starts its performance in Azerbaijan, the head of the representative office of Microsoft in Azerbaijan, Rufat Gadzhialibekov said at a press conference.
According to him, due to initiatives designed to support copyright protection, security of information space, trade and e-commerce, BSA programs promote development of innovations in the field of high technologies.
"According to the research conducted by IDC, currently 87% of software is being used in Azerbaijan without a license. Commercial value of used unlicensed software is estimated at $ 67 million, and it causes a huge loss to Azerbaijan's economy, a lot of harm to local IT-business, discourages job creation and deprives the government of tax revenue," Gadzhialibekov said.
