Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kemaleddin Heydarov has visited the quake-affected zone today.
Heydarov was in quake-affected Balakan region. The minister has inaugurated the newly-constructed Garahajili secondary school for 300 pupils in Katekh village. Making a speech at the opening ceremony, the minister said that 37 schools, which were seriously damaged after the quake, are being reconstructed: “Some of them have been already opened. Currently, the construction process is being continued.”
The minister is continuing his visit to the region.
Two powerful quakes hit Zagatala on May 7, 2012. As a result of these quakes, more than 3 000 buildings were destroyed and damaged. The funds were allocated from the state budget to eliminate the consequences of the quake.
