"At present, the average age of people has increased in Azerbaijan. Thus, if the average age in Azerbaijan was 30.5 in 1930s, today it is 75.2”.

Academician-secretary of Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS, Chairman of parliamentary Committee on Health, Ahliman Amiraslanov said in his speech on "Development of medical science in Azerbaijan, priorities and innovative perspectives".

According to him, the thought that our great fathers lived longer than people now is not correct: “People think that our great fathers lived more. But statistics say the opposite. In developed countries today, average age is about 80. In the near future, average age of people in the world is expected to be 90".

Amiraslanov said according to forecasts worldwide, 3 out of every 100 children born nowadays have a chance to live 100 years.
