From February Ukraine’s AeroSvit Airline will suspend the flights on Kiev-Baku-Kiev route.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport told that it is connected with financial difficulties faced by the Ukrainian Airline.
According to information, at present Aerosvit realizes the abovementioned flight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays: ‘Nevertheless, Kiev-Baku-Kiev flights are operated with delay or they aren’t implemented at all as yesterday. But Baku-Kiev flight is expected to realize on January 11 at 06.15. In general, Aerosvit will operate the flights on this route by the end of January and from February the company will stop implementation of Kiev-Baku and Baku-Kiev flights’.
The airport also said that Ukraine International Airlines has already started to operate Kiev-Baku-Kiev flights. The company realizes the flights on this route on Mondays.
AZAL told that it doesn’t intend to increase the number of flights on Baku-Kiev-Baku route. AZAL implements flights from Baku to on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Note that, AeroSvit Airline cancelled a number of domestic and international flights on January 9. The airline cancelled the following departing flights: VV21 for Simferopol, VV207 for Warsaw, VV485 for Minsk, VV229 for Athens, VV461 for Yerevan, VV233 for Bucharest, and VV13 for Odessa. The airline cancelled the following arriving flights: VV210 for Prague, VV24 from Simferopol, VV486 from Minsk, VV234 from Bucharest, VV230 from Athens, VV18 from Odessa, and VV462 from Yerevan. On January 9, Kiev-Baku flight #421 was not operated by the company. The plane should land in Baku at 17.55 and take off again at 19.05. That is why Baku-Kiev flight #422 was not implemented, as well’.
Remind that AeroSvit Airline has been undergoing difficulties since early December 2012. Kiev region Economic Court has sued bankruptcy case on December 29. Later on the air company has come forth with explanations thus willing to start improvement process. In early January, AeroSvit's bankruptcy led to the cancellation of a number of flights both in the territory of Turkey and out of its borders. Currently the Airlines flights are being delayed all over the world which resulted in accumulation of hundreds of passengers at airports.
