The festival of lights took place from 12 to 23 October 2011 and started with a spectacular opening ceremony. Special “lightseeing” tours on the Light-Liner bus, by boat on the Light-Ship, on foot with the Light-Cruso or by rickshaw with the Light-Velo gave locals and visitors alike the chance to experience the creative compositions up close. All the well known monuments and streets have been illuminated and convert the city to a shining ocean of lights.
