In connection with the issuance of the necessary equipment to low-income families free of charge within then framework of transition to digital TV broadcasting in Azerbaijan, AZN 5 mln is expected to spend in this regard.
ICT Minister Ali Abbasov said that 90% of the population use TV: ‘All the televisions operating in Azerbaijan switched to digital broadcasting. One of the main issues is the existence of appropriate equipment for this process. The price of equipment makes AZN 30-50’.
Abbasov also noted that low-income families would obtain this equipment free of charge: ‘At present, there are more than 120,000 low-incomes families in the country’.
