A meeting was held with members of the national team of Azerbaijan participating in the 3rd Summer Youth Olympic Games as part of the "Victory Days" project at the National Olympic Committee (NOC).
NOC vice president Chingiz Huseynzade, secretary general of the organization Agajan Abiyev, head of sports department at the Ministry of Youth and Sport Farid Mansurov, representatives of various national federations and others took part in the event.
A video about the Olympic Games was shown at the beginning of the ceremony. Then Huseynzadeh congratulated the athletes who won medals: "Our other athletes who could not win medals also struggled persistently. Our athletes, tennis players performed very well. This time each of the 7 medals were won in different kinds of sport. No similar results have been achieved so far. This figure shows the development of sport in Azerbaijan. I would like to note that our gymnast won a gold medal in a mixed team. I extend my gratitude to the President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Mehriban Aliyeva. I congratulate all sport lovers ".
After that, the athletes were given special diplomas of the Organizing Committee of the Games. Alongside the diploma, the medalists were also awarded.
Notably, of 17 Azerbaijani athletes sent to Argentina, two won gold, one grabbed silver and three claimed bronze medals.
