In the coming years, measures will be taken to rebuild the personnel training and management system in the field of secondary special education in accordance with advanced experience and development concept of Azerbaijan, Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at the 15th Congress of Azerbaijani Teachers.
The minister said that high development in contemporary education in recent years has been characterized as a time of deepening reforms in all spheres: "The development of the education system remains one of the main priorities of the state policy."
Bayramov noted that in recent years the level of school-based education has substantially increased: "It was targeted to reach 90 per cent in 2020. In this academic year, 47,930 students in the 2,140 classes were trained on trends, accounting for 28% of the 10-11th graders. Preliminary analyzes show that students who graduate from high school do better in admission to higher education institutions."
He added that the number of participants in the Republican subject Olympiads has increased by about 5 times: "The results of final examinations of the 9th graders on all subjects have increased by 17 percent. Over the past five years, 700 people have been appointed directors. Over the past five years, student-teacher ratio has increased significantly."
The minister said that the number of those who collected 500 or more points and who chose the teaching profession has reached 2090, a growth of 2.3 times compared to 2014: “According to the Cabinet of Ministers, 14 colleges merged and created 7 colleges, including 3 regional colleges have been launched, and 6 colleges adjoined to higher education institutions. Specialties of higher education institutions have been identified in these colleges ".
