The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan hold final tests of the Mobile Devices Registration System (MDRS).
The Mobile Devices Registration Centre was created in accordance with the "Rules of Mobile Devices Registration " approved by the decision #212 dated December 28, 2011 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the rules, the Center will put in the database, store and process the information about the technical identification data of mobile devices used in the telecommunications network of the Republic of Azerbaijan. After final commissioning of the Mobile Devices Registration System the usage of all unregistered, stolen and cloned devices in the telecommunication networks will be limited via identification of their IMEI-codes. It's planned to launch the mentioned process immediately after the complete start of operation of the Mobile Devices Registration System (MDRS).
It should be noted that mobile communication operators operating in the country will provide information exchange in real time by connecting to the Mobile Devices Registration System.
