New car made with 3D printing in Canada
1.3.2013

3D printed a car in Canada for the first time. The car, which is called Urbee 2 will cause revolution among the traditional cars. The Urbee's car body was assembled from about 50 separate parts.

The prototype weighs less than 1,200 pounds. In comparison, a Smart car weighs just over 1,800 pounds. Because an electric motor will handle all acceleration up to 40 mph, the prototype's engine only has to produce a measly 10 horsepower. The car’s engine and base frame was made of metal and as a result the vehicle will have significantly better gas mileage than traditional cars. Tcar has three wheels. Its producers intend to drive it from San Fransisco to New York for testing. THE travel from San Fransisco to New York will make 4,600 km. For the first calculations, this travel will take 37.8 litres of fuel.
